GREEN HOME PROJECT
An eco-friendly trade mark for Tuscan furnishing

No other region, like Tuscany, has a tradition of perfect balance between environment and civilisation, nature and artefact, presenting a long list of natural and cultural topics strongly showing the great value of this alliance.

A tradition, created by the union and the respect of nature, for which a clear choice of eco-friendly growth represents the logic development and, supported by a correct promotional policy, an interesting card to be played on the future markets.

Starting from those preambles, the Tuscany Region, through “Casa Toscana Consortium” and the cooperation with the - Department of the Architecture Faculty for the Production processes and Methods of the Building Industry, the Degree Certificate in wood technology of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Florence and the Institute for Environment-Italia-, has promoted the project Green Home finalized to the definition of an Environment Quality Certification.

This Certification is awarded after a very careful evaluation “Lca”, comprehensive of various judgment factors taking in consideration 100% of the working process – from the supplying to the production, packaging, transportation, the use and the dimensions of the product.

The environment quality of the product is calculated on the base of 3 different impact categories: human health injuries, damages against the nature, damages for the mineral and fossil resources (compare to scheme 1).
The evaluation process for each environment impact giving a specific value considering the importance of the environment impact (weighing) was defined by LCA experts. (Panel approach).
